10b5-1 trading plans have become an increasingly popular way for insiders to sell shares in manner that seemingly protects them from potential liabilities. In March 2007, however, Linda Chatman Thomsen, head of enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission noted that the SEC is looking into potential abuses of 10b5-1 trading plans. We have assembled a panel of experts to discuss the merits of 10b5-1 trading plans and potential implementation issues.
