The Society Elects New Chairmen
At Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals elected Lydia I. Beebe of Chevron as Society chairman for the 2007-08 year at its annual meeting here on June 30, 2007.

Craig D. Mallick of United States Steel Corporation was elected Chairman-Elect for 2007-08 at the same meeting.

Ms. Beebe is Secretary and Chief Governance Officer, Chevron Corporation. She has served on the Society's Board of Directors 2001-2004; as the Corporate Practices Committee Chairman 2004-2006; on the Educational Programs Committee 2005-Present; on the Executive Steering Committee 2003-2004; as the National Conference Committee Chairman 2002-2003; and on the Securities Law Committee 2000-2004.

Mr. Mallick is Secretary and Assistant General Counsel, United States Steel Corporation. He has served on the Society's Board of Directors from 2001 to the present; on the Educational Programs Committee from 2000 to 2001; on the Executive Steering Committee from 2004 to 2005; on the Society's Membership Committee from 1997 to 2000; and on the Corporate Practices Committee from 1994 to the present. He has been an active member of the Pittsburgh Chapter, serving as an officer there from 1999 until 2002, having served the 2001-2002 year as the Chapter president.

The following Society members were elected to the Society's Board of Directors for three-year terms expiring in 2010:
