2010 has been a watershed year for the S.E.C. From updated guidance on climate change disclosure ... to modified circuit breaker/uptick rules ... concept releases on the evolving capital markets and the proxy system ... to high profile actions against Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, the S.E.C. has been busy to say the least. And, on top of this is the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act. Described as the greatest legislative change to the financial supervisory system since the 1930s, the implications of the Dodd-Frank Act are significant and far reaching. With the hard work of regulatory implementation just beginning, get a perspective from a former insider on the S.E.C's thinking process and focus in the key areas of corporate governance, compensation and proxy access.
In addition to this luncheon, NIRI-Chicago will be hosting an IR Workshop. Society members are welcome to attend this full-day IR Workshop which will feature sessions on financial reform, earnings guidance and disclosure and social media.
