Code of Conduct For Society Service Providers

We request that all Society members who are with firms that provide services to the corporate secretarial function do the following:

  1. Conduct themselves professionally during any meetings, seminars and conferences, keeping the best interests of the Society and its members in mind.

  2. Provide information to Society members with the primary purpose of educating members and supporting professional corporate secretarial practices.

  3. Treat all information received from members during Society functions as proprietary and for the purpose of benefiting the Society and its membership in carrying out corporate secretarial functions.

  4. Exercise good judgment in the advertising, marketing and promotion of their services at events where such actions are permitted, and refrain from these actions where not permitted.

  5. Use the membership databases of the Society as a personal and confidential reference tool to communicate with individual members of Society, and seek the permission of the National Office to use this database for any other purpose.

  6. Refrain from implying that their firm or they are endorsed by the Society as a preferred service provider.

  7. Respect the wishes of any Society committee chairman to convene an Executive Session of the committee at any time without notice. For purposes hereof "Executive Session" shall mean a meeting without service providers.
