Code of Conduct For Society Service Providers
We request that all Society members who are with firms that provide services to the corporate secretarial function do the following:
- Conduct themselves professionally during any meetings, seminars and conferences, keeping the best interests of the Society and its members in mind.
- Provide information to Society members with the primary purpose of educating members and supporting professional corporate secretarial practices.
- Treat all information received from members during Society functions as proprietary and for the purpose of benefiting the Society and its membership in carrying out corporate secretarial functions.
- Exercise good judgment in the advertising, marketing and promotion of their services at events where such actions are permitted, and refrain from these actions where not permitted.
- Use the membership databases of the Society as a personal and confidential reference tool to communicate with individual members of Society, and seek the permission of the National Office to use this database for any other purpose.
- Refrain from implying that their firm or they are endorsed by the Society as a preferred service provider.
- Respect the wishes of any Society committee chairman to convene an Executive Session of the committee at any time without notice. For purposes hereof "Executive Session" shall mean a meeting without service providers.
